May Photo A Day : Day 5: Paper

Every year on our Anniversary I make a Photo Gift for my husband. Although there are several options of photo gifts available now, I like to make it with my hands because it looks and feels more thoughtful and personalized. Moreover, I love doing photo collages in various forms.
On the Second Anniversary, I made this little desktop calendar for him. I got a set of thick paper sheets and stuck yellow and maroon colored paper with golden flower motifs on it. Then I cut the paper into size, arranged in alternate colors. I got a printer friend to do the spiral binding of these little cards. Then, I got the printouts of the dates and our photographs. Every page has a month's dates and our black and white picture from that month, the previous year.

It turned out extremely beautiful. He kept it on his office desk the whole year :-)

    1. I love doing these. I am as passionate about making collages or stuff like that as much as I love reading perhaps, but how many collages one can really make and put up around the house! It will look tacky. I did one for my son's first birthday and have put in our center table :-)

    1. Thank you so much. More pictures coming soon. This is another of my passions, when I can forget sleeping or eating and get involved in completing it. I finished this in flat 2 days, and I was working then.

  4. Its very nice to gift someone like this. Because it shows your dedication. I used to make greeting cards with my hands but friends insulted and disdained me. They said I am stingy and saving money. They regarded me as dumb and nerdy and remarked, 'You can't even buy a card!'

    1. Oh God! That's terrible. I would say it is their loss for not being able to cherish such efforts.
