June Photo A Day : Day 21: Lunchtime

I am not a thhali person. When I eat out, I would rather try other items on Menu over thhali. I like chatar-matar, and not the good old daal-chawal / roti.

But I love thhalis in places like Rajdhani where you get a variety of delicacies one after another, garam garam.

This picture is from our trip to Ramsukh Resorts in Mahabaleshwar. This thhali was lip-smacking.

    1. Mee too, and Rajasthani as well, the Chokhi-dhani type.

  2. Reminded me of the thali we tried here when we'd just moved to Jaipur! We had no idea of the amount of food they'll serve us, and both Dad & I ordered a thali each! Phewwww! We could only taste some of the items, it was impossible for us to finish everything! :(

    1. Ha ha ! The first time is always overwhelming. You don't know what to focus on. I remember the first time I ate so much of the first few items that I had no space left for the ones which came later and were more delicious like Jalebis...yum yum!

Did you say Rajadhani? I love thali from there. Sometimes they serve Dhoklas and I simply love them. Those are the only Dhoklas I have liked till date. :)

    1. I think Dhokla should be part of Gujarati thhali? The truth is the whole experience is nice, irrespective of a Gujarati/Rajasthani/Marwari thhali. They serve you so many different dishes garma-garam....finger-licking good!
